This holiday season, the brand is turning its focus to critical issues near its home in Montana by donating 20% of all sales on SkwalaFishing.com for Thursday, December 14, 2023 to the local organization, Save Wild Trout.

Save Wild Trout, founded earlier in 2023, is a coalition of anglers, river advocates, concerned citizens, businesses, guides, and outfitters with one simple mission: to protect wild trout for the benefit of all. The organization is working to engage everyone who values wild trout and healthy rivers to develop science-based solutions that address cold-water fisheries declines and protect these resources for future generations.
Save Wild Trout grew in response to the steadily declining populations in some of Montana’s most famous wild trout fisheries, including the Big Hole, Beaverhead and Ruby Rivers, in Southwest Montana’s Jefferson Basin. These fisheries are facing unrelenting challenges that spurred locals to action. Reports from Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (FWP) confirm that wild trout populations have crashed to historic lows, and this deserves further study.
Save Wild Trout is focused on identifying key causes, thinking outside-the-box, and ensuring the development of science-based solutions. To accomplish these goals, they are pooling resources to investigate Southwest Montana’s wild trout declines, filling the gaps by conducting independent interdisciplinary research, and guiding appropriate policy and management reforms capable of restoring and conserving wild trout now and for future generations.
