Merino has stood the test of time when it comes to high-performance insulation. It traps heat, wicks moisture, naturally resists odor, feels great against your skin, and functions well even when wet. The 260 Line expands our popular Thermo Collection, giving anglers a midweight option between the 150 and the 350. Built with 95% 18.5-micron Merino, the 260 Top makes a perfect standalone shirt for cool fishing days but also shines as a heavy baselayer. Wear it under a midlayer (like the 350 Hoody) and an insulated shell (like the RS Outpost) and you can fish comfortably through arctic conditions. The quarter zip neckline with an extended collar lets you dial in your heat retention, and a double jersey knit interior and exterior combines comfort with durability.

• High coverage, knit interlock 20.5-micron Merino wool blend (95% Merino, 5% spandex) for 260-gram weight baselayer.
• Approximate Weight: 13.1 ounces (Large)

Skwala Quality Comfort

Grown in New Zealand, spun in Germany, built into the most comfortable Merino layers you’ve ever worn.

Technical by Nature

Humans can't make insulation better than the one sheep grow. We've tried, but Merino wool outperforms synthetic materials for comfort, heat retention, moisture-wicking, and odor resistance. Instead of trying to one-up nature, we're working with it. Grown by sheep, perfected by technology, our Thermo Collection starts with the highest quality, hand-selected New Zealand wool. We send that wool to Germany where it gets blended with just enough synthetics to create the perfect stretch and woven into yarn. We use that yarn to make our durable, ultra-comfortable Thermo Collection.

Better Than Cotton

Wearing cotton layers is kind of like fishing a Durham Ranger on your favorite trout river. Just because something's a classic, doesn't make it effective. Our Thermo Collection is built from the highest quality Merino wool to keep you warm on even the coldest days while naturally wicking moisture away from the body. Merino also naturally resists odor, so when you’re on day 4 of that week-long trip, your buddies won’t complain about the smell.

Quarter zip neckline with extended collar for warmth, heat regulation, and protection.

Integrated thumb loops provide maximum skin coverage and hold sleeves in place when adding or removing layers.

Articulation in armpits limits binding in underarms when layering.

Great sweater / top… consider sizing down

"High quality Merino, nicely woven, sharp looking, versatile workhorse of a sweater / mid layer. Love the charcoal color. It performs as expected in cool or extreme weather when layered. My only gripe is that it is too long in the torso, about 1-2 inches too long and/or could be more much more fitted at the hem. I am 6’ tall and 185 lbs with 42” chest and typically wear a size 32-34 waist pant. Sizing guide recommended a large. I’d love to have tried in a medium as the cut is probably a bit more generous than the guide implies and when compared to similar products (e. g. , my Icebreaker 260 is perfect for me in size large). The shoulders and sleeves fit well… sleeves extend to mid hand for the thumb holes and otherwise sit nicely at the wrist without slipping… but I’d expect the medium to fit as well."

"Great Mid Layer for those windy spring days floating on the Upper Missouri in Craig, MT. Provides warmth without being restrictive while casting."

An essential item.

"It is a pretty much a given that I do 99% of my fishing when the weather is either old and wet or just plain cold. Consequently I am always on the lookout for gear that keeps me warm and dry. A good wool base layer is essential to me and my past experience with Skwala products prompted me to try the Thermo 200 zip and I am completely satisfied with it. The top is very warm, very comfortable, and will be regularly."

Great piece

"Already wore several times in first few weeks. Super comfortable mid-weight with great stretch. Very warm under my thermo 350. Would definitely purchase again."

Great layer for all types of cool weather!

"The Thermo 260 Zip provides a perfect layer for those chilly days. It's relatively thin so it does not bunch up under a shell or parka. That said, the merino wool fabric traps your body heat to keep you warm. And as the day warms up, it allows you to stay cool and not overheat. The added Spandex tailors the fit and assures the shirt will maintain its shape"
