Don Gable
Don Gable grew up in California’s Sierra Nevada, fishing small streams and bass ponds. Seeking a bit more space and bigger trout in his early 20s, Don moved to Jackson Wyoming and got a job working at Westbank Anglers. He spent every spare moment fishing and learning water and earned a spot on the guide roster. Don guided 17 seasons on two of the most productive and competitive tailwaters in the West: The Upper Green River in Wyoming and the South Fork of the Snake in Idaho. Then, he packed up his life, moved to the Florida Keys, and started over. Don spent two full years poling the flats of the Lower Keys before taking his first charter. He’s been a Floridian and a saltwater captain for 20 years now, and he’s never looked back.
