Miles grew up in The Bronx in New York City. He came of age during the striper resurgence and cut his teeth bombing casts beneath bridges of off wave battered jetties. After a youth split between flyfishing and skateboarding, Miles became a U.S. Army Ranger. He served two deployments in Afghanistan with the 1st Bn, 75th Ranger Regiment before retiring from the Army with distinction in 2015. Once he’d finished his military service, Miles decided to spend his summers in West Yellowstone, Montana. He quickly established himself as a talented fly tyer and sought-after guide an on some of the most storied trout water in the West. These days he lives the never-winter life, bouncing between the northern and southern hemispheres, guiding for Big Sky Anglers in Montana and Eleven Experiences in Chile. We love having Miles on our team for so many reasons—his creative fly tying, innate fishiness, confidence exploring new water—but his greatest attribute is probably his demeanor and attitude. Miles doesn’t take a minute of his life for granted and appreciates every day on the water, whether he’s working or not.

Playing music in the boat is... “Acceptable given the location, and situation. No one likes bros floating down the river blasting music while you’re sight fishing.”
Hopes to one day fish with: “My daughter River, and we have. But one day she will row ME down the river and point out fish to ME.”
Prefers: Moscow mules over GnTs, PBRs over IPAs, browns over rainbows, smallmouth over largemouth, bonefish over carp, permit over tarpon, redfish over jacks.
