Why Skwala? "I'm a gear head, always have been. I love to tinker with things to see how they can be better or more efficient and we take a similar approach in building gear for fly fishing."

Guilty pleasure fly: "Thin Mint. It catches everything on nearly any day."

What aspect of your fishing needs work? "Spey casting. It’s a new venture for me as an angler."

Worst fishing snack: "I eat an unhealthy amount of Lunchables. When you stroll into a gas station at 1:00 am on a fishing trip, Lunchables are a far safer bet than anything in the cold case."

Most overrated fish: "Pike. They’re dumb and don’t fight."

Most underrated fish: "Barracuda. The speed, the tail walks, the eat. Holy crap they’re cool."

Favorite knot and why: "Clinch knot. Learned it when I was probably eight and still use it today without fail."

If you could fish with one person, living or dead, it would be… "My dad. Sounds cliché but time is valuable. Being 26, I’ve been extremely fortunate to do a lot of incredible fishing as well as film fishing in some rad places around the world. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to swap roles with my dad and take him to new places and do things together that he may have never done for himself or on his own."

What's the best part about fly fishing? "Conventional fishing allows you to kinda drift off and check in when you want. Fly fishing requires complete focus, and I’ve always appreciated that as it can take you out of anything else you have going on at a given time."
