"I bought them specifically for hiking to amd wet wading smaller mountain streams. I paired them with grips studs and the traction is incredible. My Orvis Pro Waders have an over sized stocking so i have to wear thiner socks with them but all in all the Carbon wading boots are a great product and highly recommend them!"

"Great wading boots. I often hike a fair amount to my fishing spots and these are great hikers. They also work exceptionally in the river. Although the rubber sole was quite good on slippery rocks, I felt more comfortable adding some studs. However, I do that with all my wading boots (except for boat boots of course). Very comfortable. I did break them in a little by walking on dry land with my dogs for a few weeks but doubt that was really necessary. They felt good right out of the box. I ordered a half size up from regular shoes and am very happy with the fit. They seem to be well made and durable. Very pleased with this purchase."
"I've used these boots twice so far, once without studs and once with. I find that they definitely need studs to get traction in the rivers I fish which have lots of large rocks with a layer of mud and algae on them. The boots seem well made and provide good support although they are a little heavier then my "O" brand light weight boots. They fit better than other boots I have worn although I do struggle to get them as tight as I like on the upper part because of the padding in the tongue of the boot."
"These boots have to be the slickest-looking and tackiest-feeling rubber boots I’ve worn. As a freestone guide, navigating summer boulders slick with moss can be devastating without the right boots. With the crazy light weight of the Carbons, however, it’s made the long days of hiking and wading feel comfortable without a shoe change. Highly recommend as a satisfied guide and fisherman."
"Boots are comfortable and obviously great for hiking/backpacking to high mountain lakes. The only negative I've experienced while wearing them one time in a freestone stream withe slick, mossy river rock out west is that the soles don't grip at all. I will use them backpacking, fishing from banks or shore, and floating in my pontoon."

"Just finished first trip and boots were great. Took a few attempts to get the lacing right the first day, but the got knack. Like the ease getting in and out with neoprene socks. Three full days wet wading and feet were feeling good."
"I can't give you an honest review, as I have not fished in them yet and won't get the chance to do so until late September. I tried them on with wading socks and waders, and the fit seemed fine. I wear a size 12 shoe, and ordered size 13 boots. They certainly are not too large. This is my first pair of rubber soled wading boots, and I am worried about their ability to grip. I know they won't be like felt, but I hope they're not deadly. I have fished with people who spent the whole day complaining about their boots. A couple of them went swimming because the boots had no traction. Hopefully, the newer soles are better."
