We were trying to build the perfect pants to wear under waders, but we accidentally made the most comfortable cold-weather pants you’ve ever worn. Our Thermo 350 Pants aren’t just under-waders: imagine if your favorite sweatpants, your favorite joggers, and your favorite cold-weather pants had a lovechild. They’re kind of like that. Constructed using 95% hand-selected New Zealand wool with a cloud-fluffy interior and a durable knit face exterior, these are performance underlayers that you can (and will!) still be wearing hours after the waders get hung up to dry.

Product Specs

• 95%, 20.5 Micron Merino wool and 5% spandex blended for 350 gram weight baselayer.
• 2 Jean cut pockets for ease of use under waders and rear zippered pocket.
• Stretch waistband with cordage adjusters.

Skwala Quality Comfort

Grown in New Zealand, spun in Germany, built into the most comfortable Merino layers you’ve ever worn.

Technical by Nature

Humans can't make insulation better than the one sheep grow. We've tried, but Merino wool outperforms synthetic materials for comfort, heat retention, moisture-wicking, and odor resistance. Instead of trying to one-up nature, we're working with it: Grown by sheep, perfected by technology, our Thermo collection starts with the highest quality, hand-selected New Zealand wool. We send that wool to Germany where it gets blended with just enough synthetics to create the perfect stretch and woven into yarn. We use that yarn to make our durable, ultra-comfortable Thermo Collection.

Better than Cotton

Wearing cotton layers is kind of like fishing a Durham Ranger on your favorite trout river. Just because something's a classic, doesn't make it effective. Our Thermo Collection is built from the highest quality Merino wool to keep you warm on even the coldest days while naturally wicking moisture away from the body. Merino also naturally resists odor, so when you’re on day 4 of that week-long trip, your buddies won’t complain about the smell.

Stretch waistband with cordage adjuster allows pants to be firmly adjusted to your hips. Relaxed, tapered fit for a mid layer pant allows for a comfortable fit when layering under waders.

2 Jean cut pockets for ease of use under waders and rear zippered pocket.

Jogger-cut and tapered fit with articlated knees for comfortable layering and unrestricted movement.

So Much More than Under Wader Pants

"I’ve never fallen in love with a pair of thermo bottoms, until now. Softness and comfort are unbeatable. They fit amazingly well under the RS waders, and the warmth is just right. No sweat, no chill, just perfect temperature. These are definitely a go to for fall and winter fishing. The placement of the front pockets are genius. Did I mention the comfort? Well, that goes beyond under the waders. Take off the waders and you’re wearing your new favorite joggers/sweats. I reach for these even on non fishing days. Lounge around, run errands, they’re perfect! I can’t see how you won’t fall in love with these pants as well."

Great thermo pants, waist too snug

"Loved the construction and weight of the pants. The waist quite snug tho. Fit fine in legs and seat. I ordered a medium, had to return, and unfortunately they are out of size Large. I’m 6’ 176 lbs, athletic build, 58 yr old, waist size 32 Waist on medium just to snug for all day active wear."
