Saltwater Travel
We’re not afraid of the cold—we are, after all, from Montana—but some of our favorite fish are. Permit, bonefish, tarpon, jacks, redfish, snook, and most other salty specimens don’t tolerate frigid conditions. They live in more temperate climes, which is a nice bonus. You can take a break from winter and watch your backing knot slide into surface tension.
Late winter and spring are prime flats fishing time. Depending on where you’re headed and what you hope to target, you might spend a few hours (or days) deciding which rods, reels, lines, and leaders to pack, but the apparel choices should be simple.
